The Web3 + AI Daily #29
Trustless Agents, investors' gateway to dAI, competing privacy technologies, dystopian Proof-of-Personhood solutions, and more.
Hello, everyone, and welcome to all newly-joined subscribers!
This is The Web3 + AI Daily, your definitive guide to the world of Decentralized AI (DeAI/dAI)! It’s a happy day for all of us, Crypto x AI nerds, as ERC-8004 is out and ready to supercharge the open, trustless, and permissionless machine economy. Plus, a bunch of other updates, readings, and conversations await you.
Thank you for being here! Let’s dive in.
What’s Hot in Web3 + AI?
ERC-8004 Is Now Live Powering Trustless Agents
The Ethereum Foundation’s dAI team and Consensys have released the final version of ERC-8004, the new Ethereum standard designed to enable AI agents to discover, verify, and collaborate without centralized intermediaries. The protocol lays the groundwork for decentralized agent economies, allowing autonomous programs to establish identity, reputation, and trust on-chain.
ERC-8004 introduces three key registries: Identity, Reputation, and Validation, supporting interoperable and verifiable AI coordination. Each agent is represented as an ERC-721 token (NFT) containing metadata about its capabilities and endpoints, enabling open discovery across ecosystems. Reputation and validation features allow agents to exchange feedback, verify interactions through oracles or zkML proofs, and build trust over time.
The specification (which you can check out here) was co-authored by MetaMask‘s Marco De Rossi, Ethereum Foundation‘s Davide Crapis, Google‘s Jordan Ellis, with Coinbase‘s Erik Reppel joining the final version. Contributions from industry players included Cisco, EigenCloud, ENS, OpenZeppelin, The Graph, and Virtuals Protocol. Over 100 companies are expected to build on the standard.
Web3 + AI Investment News
Aethir Unveils RWA Capital to Turn GPU Rewards Into Growth Capital
Aethir has launched Aethir RWA Capital, a new financing platform that lets GPU infrastructure providers convert their future ATH token rewards into immediate growth capital. Instead of selling rewards or waiting for traditional funding, operators can now borrow against their expected GPU earnings to expand capacity.
Backed by partners such as Tactical Compute and Credit Coop, the program aims to unlock over $100M in available capital. With more than 435,000 GPUs across 93 countries, Aethir’s goal is to democratize access to AI infrastructure by bridging decentralized rewards with real-world finance.
Yuma Asset Management to Offer Investors a Gateway to dAI
Yuma has launched a new arm called Yuma Asset Management, backed by a $10M investment from DCG, which aims to give institutional and accredited investors access to the decentralized AI sector, specifically the Bittensor network.
Through this service, investors can gain exposure to subnet tokens, a native asset class in Bittensor that rewards contributions to decentralized AI infrastructure. Yuma offers two flagship strategies: a Subnet Composite Fund (a broad, market-weight exposure) and a Large Cap Subnet Fund (targeted exposure to top subnets).
Yuma Asset Management is positioned as a bridge between traditional capital and the open-source AI ecosystem, aiming to simplify access to this emergent class of crypto-native assets.

A TypeScript Version of A2A-x402
EigenCloud‘s Nader Dabit presented a TypeScript implementation of the Python x402 payment protocol extension for Google‘s A2A (Agent-to-Agent) communication.
It allows you to enable AI agents to request, verify, and settle crypto payments through exception-based payment flows. Check it out to start requesting payments with just a few lines of code.
Web3 + AI Partnerships
Neura Join Forces with Anomaly to Merge AI, Gaming, and Finance
Neura has teamed up with Anomaly, an AI-centric Web3 gaming studio, to deploy titles like Neura Knights (a pixel RPG/CCG) and Synapse (an AI predictive market) on Neura’s sovereign infrastructure.
The partnership aims to merge gaming, AI, and finance seamlessly: Neura provides sub-second finality, gasless transfers, and yield mechanics tied into $USN, enabling real-time, AI-native gameplay and reward systems. Anomaly brings its game IP, unified identity (“novalink”), and AI agent architecture, creating a cross-ecosystem blend of interactive experiences, token incentives, and financial mechanics.
The collaboration signals Neura’s intent to extend beyond DeFi, positioning the network as the foundational stack for AI-powered digital experiences.
Web3 + AI Readings & Conversations
taopill Presents 404-GEN’s Ben James
Unsupervised Capital just launched taopill, a newsletter dedicated to the builders shaping Bittensor. Its first edition offers an interview with Benjamin James, founder of 3D GenAI studio Atlas and Bittensor subnet 404.
404’s mission is to democratize content creation by incentivizing miners to improve foundational 3D models via competition and decentralization.
It uses an Elo-style ranking dual system: miners compete on identical prompts, and a Visual Language Model judges which output is better. This mechanism replaced their earlier benchmark system and fosters continuous improvement and transparency.
According to Ben, the quality of 404-GEN outputs already competes with state-of-the-art proprietary systems, and some are apt for production use in games (especially for secondary assets). Their assets are used via Unity plugins and APIs, making integration into existing pipelines smoother. They also support 2D inputs and are exploring applications in VR, XR, simulation, and even 3D printing.
The subnet has accumulated over 28 million 3D models, with portions of this dataset open to research groups. 404-GEN plans to monetize through curated asset marketplaces, and revenue will loop back into the token ecosystem to reinforce growth and incentives.
Privacy Stack: FHE vs. ZKPs vs. TEEs vs. MPC
A recent joint Fhenix and Zama discussion gathered Guy Itzhaki, Rand Hindi, and Prof. Chris Peikert to unpack which privacy tech will dominate the future. They went over Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs), Multi-party computation (MPC), Zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs), and, of course, the latest developments around Fully-homomorphic encryption (FHE).
Their hot take? Privacy is now a UX requirement, and the stack that will win consists of FHE + ZK + MPC + (maybe) TEEs. All three speakers agreed on the same blueprint: no one single privacy tech can serve all needs, rather all of them should be combined and used in concert:
FHE for confidential compute and a composable private state.
MPC for thresholded keys (T-of-N decryption shares).
ZK to prove the computation was done right.
TEEs only as defense-in-depth where ops demand it.
Proof of Personhood Between World and Billions
A recent Cointelegraph article critiques World‘s identity approach, designed to verify humans over bots via biometric scanning and issuing a single “World ID”, for being potentially intrusive and centralized. The author Andrew Fenton sees Billions Network (formerly Polygon/Privado ID) as a more cypherpunk-oriented alternative, prioritizing privacy, pseudonymity, and user control.
Unlike the Sam Altman-backed World, Billions lets users create unlinkable, rotating decentralized IDs (DIDs) that do not tie all their activity under one persistent identifier. It uses zero-knowledge proofs, selective disclosure, and liveness checks to verify humanity while preserving anonymity. Despite trade-offs (e.g. potential friction from repeated verification), Billions aims to offer a more privacy-respecting path to Sybil resistance and identity in the Web3 world.
