The Web3 + AI Daily #23
On the agenda: agentic commerce tools, crypto trading, and prediction markets.
Hello, everyone, and welcome to all newly-joined subscribers!
This is The Web3 + AI Daily, your definitive guide to the world of Decentralized AI (DeAI/dAI)! Today’s collection of Crypto x AI updates spreads across use cases related to DePINs, stablecoins, gaming, prediction markets, and trading agents. I know you’re curious, so let’s dive in.
Thank you for being here!
What’s Hot in Web3 + AI?
IoTeX, Vodafone, Filecoin, and More Launch Real-World AI Foundry
As the crypto world headed to Singapore for TOKEN2049, a bunch of exciting updates have started to fly in. Starting with IoTeX, the DePIN-turned-AI-focused ecosystem, establishing the Real-World AI Foundry: a global initiative to build open, decentralized and blockchain-powered artificial intelligence.
The Foundry’s goal will be to oppose “closed” AI systems by enabling open, collaborative models powered by live data from sensors, devices, and people. It will empower participants (data providers, infrastructure operators, model builders) to earn rewards whenever AI models access their verified data streams. IoTeX’s current network of over 40 million connected devices will serve as initial data sources, whereas governance will evolve from partner working groups toward token-based voting to avoid central control.
However, IoTex is not alone in this initiative. It’s backed by major telecommunications, AI, and DePIN players like Vodafone, Blockchain Association, Aethir, 0G, Theta Network, Filecoin Foundation, HashKey Exchange, Space and Time, Taiko Labs, NATIX Network and many more.
Stripe Introduces Stablecoin Issuance and Agentic Commerce Tools
The global payment provider Stripe has unveiled Open Issuance, a new platform that lets companies issue their own stablecoins with minimal coding. Phantom‘s CASH, Hyperliquid’s USDH, and MetaMask‘s mUSD will be the first to roll out using the system. That move marks Stripe’s continued effort to enter and compete in the $300B stablecoin market.
More interestingly, though, the company also presented Agentic Commerce, a tool built in collaboration with OpenAI, allowing merchants to transact via AI agents while retaining control over fulfillment and customer relations. These steps reflect Stripe’s push to integrate stablecoins and AI into its payments stack.
As I reported in my yesterday’s newsletter, the race to dominate the AI-to-AI stablecoin commerce continues to intensify.
Nansen Brings Value to EVMs with Crypto Trading Agent
Crypto intelligence firm Nansen presented Nansen AI, a conversational mobile agent for on-chain crypto trading that lets users interact via natural language rather than charts. Initially it will offer insights and research tied to users’ portfolios; full execution (i.e. placing trades) is planned but will require user confirmation before orders go through.
Nansen’s mission with this AI venture is to make on-chain cryptocurrency trading more intuitive, and potentially shift more value back to public blockchains such as Ethereum.
Web3 + AI + Gaming
Verse8 and Story Bring Iconic IP to Multi-Player Worlds
Verse8, an AI-driven game creation platform, is partnering with Story, a blockchain protocol for programmable intellectual property, to integrate Moonbirds and Azuki IP into user-generated games.
With this collaboration, creators using Verse8’s natural language prompts can build multiplayer 2D/3D worlds featuring Moonbirds and Azuki characters. Story’s system will register IP usage on-chain and automatically enforce revenue sharing among creators, IP holders, and NFT owners via smart contracts.
Web3 + AI Investment News
Sui, Walrus Back Talus Network to Boost Prediction AI
Sui Foundation and Walrus Foundation are the new strategic backers of Talus Labs, Inc., joining earlier investors like Polychain Capital. They support the project in its effort to build Prediction AI.
What Talus is doing is combining prediction markets with AI agent-competitions (Agent vs. Agent, or AvA). Talus’ platform Idol.fun is where users launch AI agents that compete, and people can predict the outcomes.
